Get Involved in Flintshire!
Have you, or one of your clients, had experience of mental health services in Flintshire? Maybe you care for someone who has? Would you like to make a positive contribution to mental health services? If the answer is yes, then get in touch with Jane Slater from the Flintshire Involve Project and find out how to become involved in vital areas such as planning and monitoring services and recruiting staff.
Starting out in August 2009 as a research project looking into the best way to involve service users and carers in mental health services, the project has received funding from Flintshire Local Health Board, Flintshire County Council, WCVA and the North East User Representatives Fund to develop an innovative project aimed at providing full and meaningful participation and involvement for service users and carers in the planning, researching, developing, monitoring and evaluating of mental health services across Flintshire.
The ultimate aim of the project is for service users and carers to be able to generate positive change within mental health services. The Flintshire Involve Project will build on established good practice to help create appropriate, needs-led, timely, equal and effective services for the future. Once the project is up and running, a team of appropriately trained and supported service users and carers will work in a number of areas including mental health planning, monitoring and evaluation and staff recruitmentThe project is hosted by Unllais, the North Wales mental health development, information and training agency. Jane Slater is the Flintshire Service User and Carer Involvement Project Officer.
